Product Description:
Exufiber Ag+ is a sterile, soft nonwoven dressing made of highly absorbent and gel-forming polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibres coated on both sides with silver sulphate. Exufiber Ag+ has high absorption and retention capacity of wound exudate and maintains a moist wound environment. The structural integrity of Exufiber Ag+ supports removal in one piece. In contact with liquid, Exufiber Ag+ releases silver ions and inactivates a variety of wound related pathogens such as bacteria, fungi and moulds, as has been shown in vitro. By reducing the number of microorganisms, Exufiber Ag+ can prevent and reduce the formation of bacterial biofilm, as shown in vitro and in vivo. Exufiber Ag+ can be used as an effective barrier against microbial penetration of the dressing. Product material content: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibres, hydroxypropyl cellulose and silver sulphate equal to 0.2 mg silver per cm2.
Areas of Use:
Exufiber Ag+ is intended to be used in the following medium to high exuding wounds by absorbing and retaining exudate, inactivating a variety of wound related pathogens.
- Venous leg ulcers
- Diabetic foot ulcers
- Pressure ulcers
- Indicated wear time: up to seven (7) days.
- Intended patient population: Exufiber Ag+ can be used in patients with venous leg ulcers, diabetic foot
ulcers and pressure ulcers showing signs of clinical infection.
